  1. My paragraph has improved because there is more variety in sentence and word choice, and there aren't any linking verbs. The removal of linking verbs can make a paragraph more snazzy and awesome. Having more sentence types makes the paragraph more interesting to read.

  2. From the beginning of the year to now, I have learned a lot of new techniques for writing. My uniform paragraph was okay in the beginning and it is starting to get better. I learned how to write good compound, complex, and compound/complex sentences to make my writing better and more interesting. I also learned and am still learning new and more interesting words to use in my writing. I took out most of my linking verbs and replaced them with better words to make my paragraph better.

  4. I have learned so much in writing in the past 9 weeks. First of all I learned many of the parts of speech. I have also learned how to make simple sentences, complex sentences, complex compound, and compound sentences. Another thing that I have learned is to pick a small topic, use a unique topic, have a good lead and ending, also to read from the bottom up for editing. One big thing that I was taught is how to annotate and make a good topic to annotate with. There is many unique things that I have learned this semester.

  5. During the semester I have learned a lot more about writing. I am more aware about grammar in my own writing and others writing as well. In my uniform paragraph my sentences flow together better and I have transformed them into different types of sentences. From reading the 6+1 Traits I have become more aware of making my writing more interesting. I would say that I have already improved writing and it is more enjoyable.

  6. This semester i have learned that in your wrihgting you need to make sure you have a orginized and well though out plan. Without the orginization of a paper its hard to comprehend. You also need to make sure your being yourself in your wrighting. Write with your own style and in a way to make sure the reader knows who you are. I have already improved in limiting un-nessacary owrds and keeps with one ttopic this semester.

  9. I have learned how to write a good topic sentence, with complex format. Also I have learned how to cut out the linking verbs and simply make it sound better. I see the difference in my original Uniform Paragraph, compared to the edited and revised copy, I'm so proud of how much it's changed and how much better my writing is now!

  10. This semester so far, i have learned a multitude of things. Such as, different types of sentences and keeping to your topic, using good words, and getting rid of dead words (linking verbs).. (is, am, are, was, were, be, been, being..) learning to take them out, and actually taking them out was a challenge, but all worth the while, as it helps your paper! I have also learned the different sentence types, like simple sentences, a compound, complex, or compound/complex sentence! We have also learned to try not to tell so much when writing, to stay organized, to use points that makes sense with your topic and mostly to enjoy english! (:

  11. This year I've learned a lot about the structure of writing. In the 6 Traits packet we read and annotated, I learned a lot about how to make my writing more interesting. I've also been informed that there are different kinds of sentences, such as simple, complex, compound, and compound-complex. My uniform paragraph seems to be getting better each time we visit it. Giving us specific things to look for while editing our writing helps us to be a lot more effective with our revisions. Writing is more then just words on a paper; when you write, you have to think. You have to avoid certain words and strive to include others, while making sure that every sentence is not the same type.

  12. This semester I have learned so much about writing and making my writing better. I have learned the things to use in my writing and what not to use. I have improved my uniform paragraph a lot since I first wrote it. I have added better word choice, made a better topic sentence, and much more. In my paragraph I have also traded simple, boring sentences into compound or complex sentences. After leaning so much about making my writing better this semester, it has helped me create a much better uniform paragraph.

  14. This semester I have learned how to improve my writing in many different ways. I was exposed to six very useful techniques through the 6 trait writing packet. One of those that I have found to be most useful is organization. In this section it said to take time to develop an interesting topic, use this topic to create a good center to your piece, and add details that make your work worth reading. Using this technique, my writing has definitely improved. I think it has become one of the most valuable things I have learned so far this semester; you just need to take the time to develop what you are working on.

  15. This semester I have learned a lot about sentence structure and how often we use linking verbs. I have seen my uniform paragraph change in sentence fluency and verb tenses, I've also gotten a lot of help from the SAS website, and our list of sentence types on page 52-A. I feel like I know more about sentence types and grammar but I don't always feel like I'm using everything I know outside of English class.

  16. Within this semester i learned through various handouts and packets, how to thoroughly edit and fix small problems in my Uniform Paragraph. When i read the original paragraph, i saw all the little mistakes that could have been better. when we started re-editing our paragraph i noticed that my topic sentence multiple words that didn't make any sense. When we also took out the linking verbs throughout my paragraph it made it ten times better. It helped a lot when we typed it on google docs because i am not the best at grammar and punctuation, that really helped. Free hand writing it i made a lot of minor mistakes that made a huge difference in my writing. Sentence types mentioned in the traits packet improved my writing also because it added more depth to my par

  17. I've learned a lot in writing so far in this semester. Especially on the Uniform paragraph, and with these new writing grammar techniques, it helped me make my Uniform paragraph look better. Like getting rid of sentences, then adding on better verbs and other prepositions and sentences, ect.

  18. After only 6 weeks of school I have learned about the four different sentences. I also have learned about what words are nouns, verbs, prepositions, adverbs and ect. I recently learned when editing a paper read from the bottom up. Also edit online and on a printed version to make sure you get every mistake. you have to be careful not to use any words like be being been as was he she they and much more. You must be specific. Also don't tell to much. pretend your making a movie only tell the interesting details.Leave out the boring ones like when you do something or where you do something. When you write a story try to replace the boring adjective and verbs with exciting adjective or verbs. For example, instead of saying red, say firetruck red or burgundy. Be Specific! Although there is much more i have learned about writing, these are a few big details I remember.

  19. Regarding writing in this semester so far, I have learned to read from the bottom of my papers up, seen in the 6+1 Traits. I have done that on my uniform paragraph, and it has truly helped me realize grammar and spelling errors. My first rough draft of my uniform paragraph was more than a paragraph with a numerous amount of my opinions and experiences on school uniforms. I've learned to cut out the excess words and information that doesn't need to be included. I've improved my grammar, and my use of technology and websites as a resource or tool to help edit my writing.

  20. So far this semester I have been able to improve my writing in many ways. My uniform paragraph has especially helped me with my writing skills. I have been paying more attention to my linking verbs, sentence structure, and voice. The writing packets and websites have also helped me to always add new vocabulary words, and new ways of getting my ideas out of my head and organizing them on paper. My sentences are refined and are working their way to what I would call as close to perfect as you can get. I am excited to continue working on my uniform paragraph, and apply what I am learning now to future essays and paragraphs.

  21. i feel that i have learned alot in this class. making my sentces better is a big thing. On our uniform paragraph, it gets better every week. with all the skills that we learn each week we can figure out new ways to use them, but not just in this class. These skills should follow us no matter were we are.

  22. What I've learned regarding the writing of the uniform paragraph is first my topic sentence, I learned how to improve it to use better works and to may readers want to read my paragraph. Next, how to take words that are not needed out of my paragraph, I always use the word "I" and would always use it in my writing and now I know how to make my writing more interesting without always using that. Last, making my writing more interesting, by not trying to make it as long as I could but to make it more fun to read so the reader keeps reading it and wanting more of that I have to say. Using more complex sentences and better grammar helped my paragraph a lot to make it look better.

  23. I have improved many things on my writing. I learned different types of sentences that makes my writing sound more complicated or sophisticated. I also learned how to revise my writing that makes it useful instead of just reading it like reading it backwards to make sure I spelled things right and to improve my grammar. There is also more of a variety in my word choice. My sentence fluency has also improved to where if you are reading it aloud I’m not constantly stopping to fix something.
