This semester I have learned how to end my introduction paragraph. If you are arguing something you should end it with a thesis statement. I think I have gotten better at everything all around this semester. My word choice and way I say things in my writing has improved massively. And am proud about my improvements.
ReplyDeleteI feel that I have improved in my word choice and organization. The 6 Traits packet has helped me a lot. It has taught me to become a better writter. The stories we have read this semester have expanded my views and have encouraged me to take many different perspectives on literature which have changed my writing for the best. I am very proud of my improvements and am excited to continue writing!
ReplyDeleteThis class overall has really helped me improve my writing. Going through the six trait packet and the grammer packet has helped me realize what words I am using. I realized at the beginning of the year that I used a lot of weak linking verbs. Now, I have practiced (even in other classes), and improved by trying to avoid using those as much as possible. For this assignment, I decided to completely rewrite my essay. My previous essay's support was weak, and it barely addressed the prompt. Overall it was really poor. Now I understand what the prompt is, and my writing is much more fluent and believable. Before, I had missed the reason for writing the essay almost completely. This time, I spent a lot of time considering what I was going to write about. I spent a large amount of time writing, printing out and editing, and rewriting to make sure that my essay is to the best of my ability. This English class has helped make my writing sound more professional and less choppy. One of the hardenst things I have also learned is that no matter what, it takes time to develop and understand these skills, it doesn't come overnight. This factor has definitely been challenging to me this semester.
ReplyDeleteThis semester I have leanred the importance of good thesis staments and a strong opening. I have also learned about grammmer and The 6 Trait Packet has reallly helped me. In my writing assessment I revised my paper by taking out all the linking verbs. I also added a thesis statement to my essay so that i could have a strong arguemment and get my poiint across. This class has really helped me become a better writer in many ways such as making my paper more fluent and understandable.
ReplyDeleteEnglish class this semester was a very helpful class. I learned a lot about how to write a topic sentence. Also, i learned grammar and vocabulary.
ReplyDeleteI think the Six Traits writing packet helped me improve word chice, voice and organization in my papers. Also, i expanded my vocabulary skills and my grammar skills. I found grammar to be quite challenging. After all, thats how you learn.
After going back through and looking at all of my notes and the old prompt I realized that I hadn't really addressed the prompt at all. I went back and looked over how to write a good thesis statement, and how to identify different sentence types. Everything we have done this semester has helped me make improvements in not only my Digital Footprint writing, but also my writings for other classes.
ReplyDeleteThis year I learned that i really needed to go back and read what i had written before. I use to just write it and be done with it but now i know that it is better to make sure you take time and look back, because then it allows you to create a better story. I also learned that for the introductory paragraph, you have to make sure its a strong paragraph because it draws in the reader. If the introductory paragraph isn't good then the rest of your essay isn't going to get much better for the reader. At the beginning of the year i had an issue with not using linking verbs. I still don't think i have fully been able to stop my habit of using them a lot but i am working on it.
ReplyDeleteThis year I have learned a lot about writng. I realized it is important to never give up on your writing, no matter how tedious it can be. You can always change things to make it better. I also learned how to plan before I started writing. I used to always start my writng right away and never took time to plan. It has helped me a lot having spent time to gather my thoughts before putting them on the paper.
ReplyDeleteEnglish Class this semester has really tought me the finishing touches to add onto a writing. Replacing daed words with more interesting ones. Or having a more meaningful writing. Before this semester i was mainly focused on how long my paper was, not on the thought thaat goes into the paper. I have really learned to just put your all into your paper so that you have a great paper and not a paper with a bunch of blah.
ReplyDeleteThis semester, I have already learned so much about writing. This assessment really proved that to me.In my digital footprint the first draft had so many linking verbs and run on sentences that I learned how to fix. Lately we have been really working on the thesis statements and I realized that I didn't even have them in my topic or concluding paragraphs.Over all my writing might not be as good as it should be,or as good as it will ever be,but my writing has drastically improved throughout this semester.
ReplyDeleteIn my writing assesment I am taking a different twist. I am using the promt in a way no one would have thought of. This will be different but will still answer the promt question. I have not done this before so I'm hoping it will come out alright.
ReplyDeleteI think i have learned a lot about grammar and punctuation. I Now understand how to write a good thesis statement and it makes sense to me know. I use more descriptive words in my writing and it clearly states the main idea more than once. I think that i have become a better writing but not a perfect on yet. I like writing and i want to be good at it. Grammar is still hard for me but i am getting better. I don't quite understand it yet but i am sure that will get better.
ReplyDeletePersonally I don't think I have ever been a good writer but I think this class has helped me become better. I improved on putting quotations in my paper and a thesis statement, I never really did that before. Grammar is also a struggle for me and I'm not even sure if i get it now.
ReplyDeleteThis year, my writting has improved a lot. Like my word choice, and grammer. Also to go back and proofread what i wrote just to make sure. The essays that we have done so far really have improved my writting, by taking out all of the dead verbs, and adding quality with word choice. Before this year i was annoyed by the fact that my paper never reached the correct length, now i am focussed on quality in my writting.
ReplyDeleteThis year I have grown on my knowledge of writing. I learned a lot last year at my middle school which has really prepared me for writing in high school. I have improved greatly in my writing and I hope to progress on improving. One thing that I hope to improve more on would be eliminating linking verbs to improve the voice of my writing so that it may be strengthened. Another improvement I would like to make would be making a variety of word choice. By making a variety of word choice I would be able to strengthen my writing as well as sound more professional.
ReplyDeleteIn English this semester I learned a lot about grammar and ways to make your paragraph flow better. In my digital footprint I worked on making my topic sentences better and trying to work on making my thesis better. From the beginning of the year I think I have come a long way and improved a lot. I hope to keep getting better at writing and eventually be really good at it.
ReplyDeleteThis semester i would say i learned a lot about how to improve my writing. I learned how to replace words to make my work more interesting, and how to avoid to many linking verbs.I learned that having a really long paper doesn't necessarily make it a good one, and that i should focus more on addressing the prompt and being descriptive.
ReplyDeleteAt the begin of the school year i thought i wasnt a good writer but know im believe that i can wirte something that people will enjoy to read. English has also helped me learn more about grammer becuase i have never been to good at it. Also expanding my vocab and different words in my everyday talking.
ReplyDeleteIn the writing assessment, I improved some things like giving examples, being more specific. I know that I'm still improving on my writing and that it keep improving slowly, but surely. Every time I write an essay, I try to find ways to improve on my writing.
ReplyDeleteWhen the year started I was a ok writer. I do make some mistakes. Now I think I'm a little better writer. I do still make some mistaks, but I'm only human. I did improve on making things more specific then I use to.
ReplyDeleteThis semester I have learned a lot about writing, but more about revising and taking time to make your paper the best it can be, not just writing the paper, but actually going back over it. I also learned that using more expanding words, and making your paper sound like it is what truly matters, then it will help your paper be thee best.
ReplyDeleteI think that I have learned how to use better vocabulary and word choice regarding my writing. Using interesting words makes your writing better. I think learning a new word every day has helped me accomplish this, and perfect my writing style.
ReplyDeleteI learned how to write better paragraphs, how to annotate, and how to write a good thesis sentence. I also liked learning a new word every day. Remembering them all was difficult but it expanded my vocabulary
ReplyDeleteI learned so much about writing this seemester. I had horrible grammer before and now I can identify the parts of a sentence and I can exspunge linking verbs from my writing! I also learned to destinguish certain sentence types and how to quote sources or annotate text. I now know more words than I did at the beginning of the year!
